Large pores.
No cream closes pores. But the skin around them can be tightened, sebum regulated – and then they look smaller. What is proven.

Pores cannot be 'closed' but refined. Why they look larger (sebum, sun damage, age), what retinoids, microneedling, skin boosters and PRP achieve
What is behind it.
What is behind it: pores are the openings of sebaceous glands. They look large when a lot of sebum is produced (oily skin, hormones), when keratinisation widens the opening, when sun has broken down the collagen around the pore or when the skin loses tension with age and the pore 'stretches'. Genetics decide the rest.
What is shown to help: retinoids (regulate keratinisation and sebum, tighten the surroundings), niacinamide, salicylic acid (BHA) as care. In the practice: microneedling (collagen around the pore, finer texture after three sessions), skin boosters (skin tension), PRP as a supplement. Baby Botox spread superficially can temporarily reduce sebum and pore size – off-label, subtle.
What does not help: pore strips (only rip off the surface), 'pore-refining' primers (conceal), hot water ('opening pores' is a myth), aggressive peels at home.
Realistic: a visible refinement, not porcelain. Side light will always show pores – on every person.
Is this for me?
A treatment can make sense if …
- pores on nose, cheeks or forehead bother you in the mirror and in photos
- the skin is rather oily or sun-damaged
- you already use care (retinoid, BHA) without enough effect
- you are ready for a series of sessions
Rather not suitable if …
- you have active acne (treat first)
- you expect 'poreless' skin
- you take isotretinoin or took it in the last 6 months
- you cannot keep up sun protection
These notes replace no examination. Whether and which treatment is an option is clarified in the consultation under § 630e BGB – sometimes the answer is: none.
