Skin in winter.
Cold outside, dry heated air inside: the skin loses water, the barrier cracks, fine lines stand out. But winter is also the ideal treatment season.

Heated air, cold and little light stress the skin in winter. Why the barrier suffers, what care makes sense now and why winter is the best time for…
Why skin suffers in winter.
Moisture is missing: cold air holds little water, heated air even less. The skin gives off moisture, the lipid barrier becomes brittle. Result: tightness, flaking, redness, suddenly visible crinkles. Anyone with dry skin anyway notices it first.
Less light, dull complexion: circulation drops in the cold, cell renewal slows. The skin looks grey. That is not ageing but season – and can be influenced.
Adjust care: richer cream with ceramides and glycerin, fewer foaming cleansers, lukewarm instead of hot showers, humidifier in the bedroom. Many tolerate retinol less well in winter – reduce the dose, don't stop. Sun protection stays: even in January UVA reaches the skin, especially on snow.
Winter as treatment season: microneedling, fruit-acid peels and PRP make the skin temporarily light-sensitive. Between October and March the risk of pigment disorders is lowest – hence these are classic winter treatments. Skin boosters replace exactly what winter takes: water binding in the skin.
Don't confuse: persistent redness, burning or eczema is not winter skin but a case for dermatology. Rosacea and atopic dermatitis often worsen in the cold and need their own treatment.
The essentials.

Ideally in October or November; three sessions four to six weeks apart are finished by spring.
