'I always look tired.'
One of the most common sentences in the consultation. Usually it is not lack of sleep but shadows, volume and expression – and those can be addressed specifically.

Dark circles, drooping lids, hollow temples, frown line: why faces look tired even when rested, and which treatments visibly change that
What is behind it.
What makes a face look 'tired': shadows. A tear trough casts a dark crescent under the eye; hollow temples and cheeks make the mid-face look flat; a frown line and descended brows look like effort; drooping mouth corners like displeasure. None of these signs has to do with sleep – they are questions of volume and expression.
What helps: for the tear trough small amounts of hyaluronic acid, often after supporting the cheek. For a flat mid-face volume at the cheekbone. For frown line and low brows botulinum toxin – a slight lift of the outer brow opens the gaze. For dull, dry skin, skin boosters or polynucleotides for the complexion.
What does not help: more concealer, caffeine eye creams (minimal, brief), even more sleep if you already sleep enough. And: filler into eye bags or slack lower lids makes the picture worse.
Realistic: most people need one or two small measures, not five. The goal is 'rested', not 'different'. Often the tear trough alone is enough.
Is this for me?
A treatment can make sense if …
- you have a visible hollow between lower lid and cheek
- frown line or low brows shape your expression
- temples or cheeks are hollow
- the skin looks dull and dry
Rather not suitable if …
- you have pronounced eye bags or very slack lower lids (rather surgery)
- the dark circles are pigment-related (care, sun protection)
- you actually sleep too little or have allergies
- you expect your face to change fundamentally
These notes replace no examination. Whether and which treatment is an option is clarified in the consultation under § 630e BGB – sometimes the answer is: none.

Important note.
This text is general information. It replaces neither a medical examination nor the consultation required before any treatment under German law (§ 630e BGB). Whether and which treatment is suitable for you can only be said after examination and consultation. No treatment results are promised.
Frequently asked questions.
Can everything be done in one session?
Often yes – botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid can be combined. For a first treatment, one step at a time makes more sense though.
Does Botox help with dark circles?
No. It relaxes muscles; shadows under the eye are a question of volume.
