In your 30s.
The decade that decides how the face looks at 50 – less through injections than through sun protection. What really makes sense.

Between 30 and 39 it is about prevention: sun protection, retinoid, if needed a little botulinum toxin for the frown line, skin boosters for the skin.
Typical in this decade.
What shows: first dynamic lines that briefly remain after expression – frown line, forehead, eye corners. The skin recovers more slowly from late nights, sun and stress. Volume is generally not missing; anyone who finds cheeks or lips 'empty' usually has that by nature.
What can make sense: daily sun protection and a retinoid are more effective in this decade than any treatment. If a line stays visible at rest, low-dose botulinum toxin prevents it from engraving – once or twice a year. Skin boosters for skin quality, microneedling for acne scars or pores. Masseter Botox for bruxism. Lips if they are naturally thin – 0.5 ml, not more.
What is usually too early: fillers in cheeks, tear trough or chin without real volume loss; 'prevention' through filling; treating all zones at once. Adding volume at 32 that is not missing changes the face instead of preserving it – and adds up over years.
Budget: treating only the frown line twice a year comes to around 400 euros a year. With a skin booster course about 1,000 euros. Sunscreen: 60 euros.
At a glance.
| What shows | What can make sense | What is usually too early or too much |
|---|---|---|
| Frown line stays at rest | botulinum toxin, low dose, 1–2× / year | all zones 'preventively' |
| First eye lines | sun protection, retinoid, possibly little botulinum toxin | filler under the eyes without a trough |
| Dull skin, pores, scars | skin boosters, microneedling | aggressive lasers |
| Thin lips | 0.5 ml, mind proportion | 1 ml+ in one session |
| Teeth grinding | splint, possibly masseter Botox | – |
| Volume in cheeks/chin | only with real deficit | 'prevention' through fillers |
Age is a rough orientation, not a treatment plan. What matters is findings, skin condition and wish – after examination and consent (§ 630e BGB). Nobody 'must' do anything at a certain age.

Frequently asked questions.
Should I start Botox at 30?
Only if a line is visible at rest and bothers you. Prevention does not mean treating everything at 30.
Are skin boosters sensible at 30?
With dry, dull skin yes. With good skin, care is enough.
