How the line forms.
The frown line (glabellar line) is created by the muscles between the eyebrows that pull the brows together. It is one of the most frequently treated zones.
Botulinum toxin type A is injected into a few points of that muscle group and softens the movement. The line becomes shallower; with deeply etched lines some of it often remains and can smooth further over several treatments.
The treatment takes only a few minutes. The effect sets in after a few days and typically lasts 3 to 6 months.

A good fit if …
- expression lines that remain visible at rest (frown lines, forehead, crow's feet)
- healthy adults from 18 with realistic expectations
- medical reasons such as teeth grinding, heavy sweating or chronic migraine – after diagnosis
Rather not if …
- pregnancy or breastfeeding
- certain neuromuscular conditions or an infection in the treatment area
- a wish for volume or smoothing of deep static lines – hyaluronic acid is the better fit

How it works.
1. Assessing the movement. We look at how strongly the muscle works and how the zones interact – that determines the dose.
2. Injection. A few points are treated with a very fine needle. It takes only a few minutes and anaesthesia is usually not needed.
3. Afterwards. Don't lie down for 3–4 hours; no sport, sauna, swimming pool or intensive facial massage on the day.
4. Review. The result is complete after about two weeks and can be fine-tuned then if needed.
What you should know.
Redness, swelling, tenderness or small bruises at the injection sites are possible, as are temporary headaches. Rarely, neighbouring muscles can be temporarily weakened – a drooping eyelid, for example – which resolves as the substance is broken down. The treatment is not suitable with certain neuromuscular conditions, infections in the treatment area, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding, among others. Botulinum toxin is a prescription medicine and is only used by a physician after examination and assessment of the indication. This information does not replace the medical consultation required by German law (§ 630e BGB).

Will the line disappear completely?
Movement-related lines often largely do. Deeply etched lines at rest become shallower but do not always disappear entirely.
Can I still move my eyebrows?
Yes. The treatment targets the muscle group that pulls the brows together – lifting is preserved.
