Soft, lightly cross-linked hyaluronic acid introduced across the skin. The goal is hydration and skin quality, not volume.

## A closer look.

Skin boosters are hyaluronic acid products with little or no cross-linking. They are not placed at single points for volume but distributed across the mid-layer of the skin with many small injections. There they bind water and improve hydration, elasticity and surface – the skin looks plumper and more even without contours changing.

Typical areas are face, neck, décolleté and the backs of the hands; fine crinkle lines and dull, dry skin are classic reasons. Two to three sessions about four weeks apart are usual, then top-ups every six to twelve months. The effect builds slowly and is subtle.

Side effects are small injection marks, redness, swelling and bruising for a few days. Skin boosters replace neither botulinum toxin for expression lines nor filler for volume loss – they are the 'care layer' of aesthetic medicine. As with all injections: not during pregnancy, breastfeeding or with active skin infections.
