# Skin booster or *filler?*

Same substance, two goals: the skin booster stores water in the skin, the filler builds shape beneath it. Knowing the difference means asking the right question in the consultation.

## Skin quality versus volume.

**Skin boosters** are thin, lightly cross-linked hyaluronic acids spread across the middle skin layer. They bind water, stimulate fibroblasts and improve hydration, elasticity and fine texture – the skin looks plumper and fresher. They lift nothing and fill no fold.

**Fillers** are more strongly cross-linked, firmer gels placed at a specific point: in the cheek, at the chin, in the lip, under a fold. They replace lost volume and shape contours. They hardly change the skin itself.

**Typical cases:** crepey skin on cheeks, neck or décolleté, dull complexion, dry skin after menopause – skin booster. Hollow cheeks, receding chin, thin lips, deep nasolabial fold – filler. Often the combination makes sense: structure first, then skin quality.

**Course and durability:** skin boosters as a course of two to three sessions four weeks apart, refresh after six to nine months. Fillers usually in one session, durability six to eighteen months depending on the area.

**Can a skin booster smooth wrinkles?**

Fine crinkles yes, through better water binding. Deeper folds and volume loss no – that needs filler or support in the cheek.

**Which first if I want both?**

Usually the filler, because it sets the structure; the skin booster follows after two to four weeks. Both in the same session is possible if the areas are separate.
