# At *60 and beyond.*

> From 60 it is about freshness and skin health, not youth. What skin boosters, polynucleotides, a little botulinum toxin and targeted volume achieve

The question is not 'younger' but 'rested and well cared for'. With that goal, aesthetic medicine from 60 is often more rewarding than at 40 – because less is more.

## Typical in this decade.

**What shows:** the skin is thin, dry and sun-damaged; pigment spots, small vessels and fine crinkles shape the picture more than individual wrinkles. Volume loss affects the whole face, slackening cheeks, neck and lids. Often medicines (blood thinners) and conditions are added that are considered in planning.

**What can make sense:** skin quality first – polynucleotides or skin boosters for face, neck and hands visibly improve density and moisture. A little botulinum toxin for the frown line and a more open gaze; caution on the forehead, because many lift their brows with it. Targeted volume at temple, cheek and chin in small amounts – with a cannula, because of bruising. Sun protection, mild care, skin cancer screening.

**What is usually too much:** large filler amounts in a face with skin excess (looks heavy), high botulinum toxin doses on the forehead (lids drop), needling or peels on very thin or pre-damaged skin, treatments without consultation on blood thinners or immunosuppressants.

**Honestly:** with marked slackening a surgical lift is the more effective answer; aesthetics complements it. And: anyone coming for the first time at 65 has nothing to catch up on – a skin treatment and a little botulinum toxin are entirely enough for many.

## At a glance.

| What shows | What can make sense | What is usually too early or too much |
|---|---|---|
| Thin, sun-damaged skin | polynucleotides, skin boosters, sun protection | aggressive peels, laser without dermatology |
| Frown line, tired gaze | little botulinum toxin, mind the brows | high forehead dose (lids drop) |
| Overall volume loss | small amounts at temple, cheek, chin, cannula | large amounts with skin excess |
| Neck, hands, décolleté | skin boosters, care | filler in lines |
| Blood thinners, conditions | history, consultation, adapted technique | stopping medication on your own |
| Marked slackening | surgical advice, aesthetics as a complement | injection as lift replacement |

Age is a rough orientation, not a treatment plan. What matters is findings, skin condition and wish – after examination and consent (§ 630e BGB). Nobody 'must' do anything at a certain age.

## The essentials.

- **Goal:** rested, well cared for
- **First:** skin quality
- **Botulinum toxin:** little, mind the brows
- **Important:** medicines, skin cancer screening

## Important note.

This text is general information. It replaces neither a medical examination nor the consultation required before any treatment under German law (§ 630e BGB). Whether and which treatment is suitable for you can only be said after examination and consultation. No treatment results are promised.

## Frequently asked questions.

**Is Botox still sensible from 60?**

Yes, in low dose for the frown line and eye corners. On the forehead carefully, because many lift their brows with the forehead.

**I take blood thinners – is it possible?**

Yes, with adapted technique (cannula, cooling) and without stopping the medicine. More bruising is possible.
